Nineteen year old Sebastian, his parents “Consentine” and Catherine, and his 8 younger siblings appear as the Johnson family in the 1880 Census for Derry Twp. in Westmoreland Co., Pa. The death certificate of Sebastian’s brother Earnest identifies the parents as Wendel Berkmyer and Catherine Kittner, both born in Germany. Catherine evidently married Consentine Johnson after Wendel’s death. Sebastian lived in Altoona, Pa., and was a train engineer in the Pittsbugh Division. He died of typhoid fever.
