Known as “Ellis.” He worked in the line construction department of GTE-Verizon for 32 years. He did repair calls mostly in the Johnstown area, but also did emergency work in Salisbury when tornadoes struck in 1998, and in Erie, when ice storms erupted. Ellis was also a locally known baseball coach. He suffered from colorectal cancer and had nearly completed his master’s degree in business administration at the time of his demise.
