Willa was a registered nurse.

Leonard, aka “Jeff,” was a medical student at the University of Colorado during WW II. He volunteered for service but was released after contracting arthritis. He became a doctor in 1950 and then married Barbara Jones, a nurse. They lived in Pueblo, Colo. He relocated to Arizona in about 2001, with his second wife Willa.
