In 1910, Joseph and Gertrude were renting a home on 7th Avenue in Altoona, Pa., and Joseph was a helper for Pennsylvania Railroad. By 1918, Joseph was a machinist at the shop. In 1920, they were renting a home on 9th Street. In 1930, they were renting an apartment in Altoona. At the time of his death in 1935, Joseph was a baker at the Westmont Bakery.
