Eugene lived in Bemidji, Minn. He served in the Vietnam War as an aircraft loadmaster with the distinguished 3rd Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Group of the U.S. Air Force. His unit was headquartered at the Tan Son Nhut Airbase in 1968, and was highly decorated for its dangerous search and rescue missions to recover servicemen during conflict. After retiring as a tech sargeant, Clinton moved to Enid, Okla., and worked at Vance AFB.
