“Tillie” entered WWII in 1942, was assigned to Australia and saw action at Good Enough Island in New Guinea with the 32nd Inf. Div. 114th Combat Engineers. He also served during conflicts with the Japanese on Leyte Gulf and Luzon in the Phillipines. He worked at the Cresson State School and Hospital, and served on the Cresson Borough Council.
