Notes for Edward Louis Farabaugh
Louis was a quarterback for both Lehigh University and the Manhattan College Jaspers. At Lehigh, he and his brother Andy had highly successful seasons in 1902 and 1903, In one game, for example, Louis led Lehigh to a 34-6 victory over the University of Virginia, with Andy at left halfback.

By 1909, he was married to Helen Mullin, and they were living with a son in Maywood, Ill. Their children were born in Illinois. Louis’ registration card in 1918 for WWI states he was a foreman at Nat’l Malleable Castings Co., and that they were living in Cuyahoga, Oh.

By 1920, the family had settled back where Louis played college football, in Lehigh County, Pa. The 1920 Census finds E.L. as a superintendent for Bethlehem Steel living with his wife Helen L. in Eastern Salisbury Township, with their children Jane and Robert. In 1930, E. Louis is listed as an engineer for the steel industry, living in Bethlehem, Pa. with his wife Helen, daughter H. Jane and son Robert L.

His WWII registration in 1942 indicates he and Helen were living in Bethlehem, Pa., where Louis was working at Bethlehem Steel Co. He was later a superintendent there. He and Helen were living in Bethlehem, Pa., at the time of his death in 1957.

Helen is found in Winslow, Pa., in the 1880 Census as the 2 1/2 year old daughter of Frederick and Louisa Mullin. In 1900, the family was in nearby Reynoldsville, with Mary working as a clerk in a department store.
