Matilda was raised in Carroll Township, Cambria County, Pa. She entered the convent in 1895 and took her second (or perpetual) vows as a Benedictine nun in 1899. She was stationed at various times at St. Gertrude’s Convent in Vandergrift, St. Marys in Northside, Pittsburgh, St. Benedicts in Carrolltown, and Immaculate Conception in Connellsville. She passed away at the Mother House of the order in Northside. Sr. Mary Flavia was a parochial school teacher.
