Notes for Camilla Mary (Spouse 1)
The Donoughes settled at R. D., Gallitzin, Pa. Camilla was an avid gardener and was especially skilled with blueberry bushes. She was the daughter of Mary Louise Farabaugh who, as a single mother, placed her in St. John’s Orphanage, Cresson, Pa., At the age of about 13 she was taken in by her relatives Sebastian and Mary Farabaugh. Camilla recalled bringing in the cows and tending to livestock at their farm. She also once badly cut her knee while using a sickle to cut corn. Camilla walked a long distance to the local schoolhouse, where she once won a penmanship award using the Palmer Method. It is believed that she never met her biological father.
