Notes for Mary Ann Farabaugh
Mary Mangus was raised in Jackson Township in Cambria County, Pa. She was a long time resident of Loretto, Pa., where she daily attended St. Michael's Church. Mary taught at several public schools in Cambria County. She was also a local enumerator for the 1940 Census.

According to the 1900 Census, "George E" was a 6 year old, born in Pa., and living in Portage Township, Cambria Co., Pa., with his parents. They are listed as Charles (a 35 year old farmer born in Pa. who owns a mortgaged farm) and Clara (age 39 and born in Pa.) "Manges,” and had been married for 13 years.

In 1926, George and Mary were living in Portage, Pa. The 1930 Census indicates that the family lived one the north side of Portage Township. By 1935, George was living with his mother in Portage Township, and his wife Mary and daughter Lucy had moved in with Mary’s parents in Allegheny Township.

George was a farmer. His death was ruled a suicide from carbon monoxide gas poisoning from his truck, at his home in Portage Township.
