John and Georgia settled in Johnstown, Pa. John began his civil engineering career with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, and became associated with L. Robert Kimball Engineers (Ebensburg, Pa.); Crown American Corp.; Straw, Custer & Duray Engineers; and president of Hinks and Locher Engineers. In 1977 he became president of the Johnstown Chapter, Pa. Society of Professional Engineers. He worked in Pa., Maryland, New York and W. Virginia, and was a registered surveyor in Pa.
