Notes for Gabriel Adam Farabaugh
The 1900 Census indicates that "Richard G.A." was a three year old living with his parents in Carroll Township, Cambria County, Pa. Since that early age, he was known as Richard (or Dick) rather than his given name: Gabriel Adam. When his brother Englebert bought his father's farm in 1917, Dick worked for him. Later, he was employed by the Northern Cambria Street Railway Co. In 1918, during WW I, he was assigned to care for flu victims at the University of Pittsburgh. After the war, he worked a number of jobs. He drove a coal truck, then went back to the streetcars -- but quit because he was only paid 17ยข an hour. Richard worked for the coal companies (not underground) and was also employed by a Barnesboro oil company.

Dick lived in Minnesota 1922-4. He returned to help establish a farm at the old Flick residence (half a mile south of Carrolltown) owned by his brother Leo. Dick then moved to Ohio where he worked for Davie Tree Experts, a job that ended because of the Great Depression. He then settled into a position with the Cincinnati Parks Department. In 1940, the census indicates that a 12 year old niece, Martha Gaddis, was living with the couple in Cincinnati. After working for the Parks Department for 30 years, Dick retired to Amelia, Ohio.
Notes for Eleanor Agnes (Spouse 1)
In 1920, Nora and her first husband Hobert (later known as James) were living in Owensboro, Ky.

Nora died from Parkinson's Disease in 1978, ending a civil marriage union of over 50 years. They were also married on May 4, 1948, at the Church of the Nativity, Cincinnati, Ohio.
