Jerry was a airplane mechanic, first with the US Air Force and then with Boeing, where he eventually became a senior manager of quality control. He was often part of the Boeing team that delivered aircraft to foreign countries, including the first 767 to be delivered to China. Following retirement in 1994, Jerry was in the stained glass business for a few years.
