Ashley died from blunt force trauma in a car crash while traveling southbound on Route 53 in Portage Twp., Cambria Co., Pa. She lost control while negotiating a left curve and traveled off the berm into slush. She cut the wheels back onto the roadway but into the opposite lane, and collided with an approaching vehicle. Ashley was ejected from her vehicle and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
